Do I need to do e-Invoicing?

It depends on your annual turnover. Businesses above RM100M started Aug 2024, RM25M–100M in Jan 2025, RM5M–25M in Jul 2025, and RM1M–5M from 1 January 2026. Businesses below RM1M are currently exempt. Enter your turnover in the checker above for your exact date.

When does e-Invoice become mandatory for my business?

Your mandatory date is based on your FY2022 annual turnover. The RM1M–RM5M band becomes mandatory on 1 January 2026, with a 6-month relaxation period until 30 June 2026.

My turnover is below RM1 million — do I still need it?

Accepted Answer

Currently you are exempt from issuing e-Invoices. However, customers who are already on e-Invoice may request your details so they can issue self-billed e-Invoices, and once your turnover exceeds RM1M it becomes mandatory from the second following year.

What happens if I don't comply?

Accepted Answer

Failure to issue e-Invoices is an offence with a fine of RM200 to RM20,000 or imprisonment up to 6 months, or both — per offence.
